Lisa’s been called an alchemist and an inspiration. Indeed, there
is something magical about her jewelry and the effect it has on people.
Lisa’s ultimate purpose is to help women feel more beautiful and
confident through wearing her Enlightened Jewelry Inspirations. And,
let’s
face it, attracting more compliments is always a great way to brighten
any day!
Lisa Chandler has worked as a full-time jewelry artist since
October, 1999. What started as a therapeutic process during a life-transition
soon
blossomed into a full-time, award-winning endeavor. Self-taught,
she borrowed some of her dad’s dental tools and started experimenting
with wire and beads. After two years of self-guided exploration,
she studied metal-smithing
techniques at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, Washington, which
brought new depth and energy to her designs. In addition, she spends
time each
year in Bali, Indonesia, reveling in the spirituality and inspiration
of their culture and partnering with their incredibly gifted silversmiths.
Lisa
is naturally an acute observer, noticing lines, angles, textures,
colors and shapes everywhere she goes. She constantly massages her
visual perception of the world in search of new ideas. Many wonder
how she can
sustain conceiving and fabricating only one-of-a-kind items, but
for Lisa, there seems to be no limit to the creative font that flows
through her
hands!
There is a spiritual quality in everything Lisa touches. Her
work is decidedly feminine and her styles span conservative to contemporary,
delicate to bold, and classic to city-funk, but always maintaining
an underlying celebration of femininity. Her jewelry creations are
a meditation in motion;
each a unique statement, each a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork, cherished
by women far and wide who adopt her pieces as a form of individual
expression. She revels in the idea that each piece is somehow “meant” for
a particular woman, for whom the expression of that piece will be
a perfect fit. She’s seen the look of recognition in a woman’s
face when she finds “her” piece, and that sacred connection
is what most inspires her about doing this work.
Lisa works from her home studio in Austin, Texas meeting the demands
of boutiques and private clients with her thoughtfully crafted designs.
